The above building on the corner of Trinity Road and North Parade was once called Fellowship House (perhaps it still is?) and was a home for the blind. It subsequently became a Wirral Borough Council home for people with learning disabilities. It has appeared to be have been empty for quite some time.
However, Hoylake resident Vincent Cranny has contacted me to say that some internal construction work is being undertaken on the building.
Does anybody know what the works are for and is the building about to used again?
Colin says
Wirral Methodist Housing Association are buying the freehold from the council and converting it into dwellings for a group of families known as the Independent Supported Way of Life Group (IS-WOL Group), who have children with learning and other physical difficulties.

The building is currently being given a new coat of paint – and a new colour! Only the very top part of the building has been painted so far, but it looks more of a maroon colour, much darker than the colour in the photo above.
