Hoylake resident Viki Boult successfully swam The Mersey at the weekend and raised funds for neonatal twin cot for Arrow Park Hospital.
Viki says:
“I made it across the Mersey in one piece! It was difficult, you don’t swim across in a straight line, you kind of have to do a horse-shoe loop to get across because of the tide and currents. I worked out that I swam around 2 miles and think I was in the water for over an hour. Times aren’t officially out yet.
Parts of the swim were quite choppy like being in a washing machine and although it was hard I did enjoy it in a weird kind of way and was just glad to have made it across.
I’m wearing the yellow hat, red hats were for those who were racing or had done it before, yellow hats for complete novices/first timers.”
