Does anyone remember Mrs Huddard who had a boarding house near the station at Manor rd
in 1945 ? We[family of 5] were from Huyton and had a family holiday there that year and we took our own food kept in a larder in the lounge. The house was on the Hoylake side of the Rd only a few doors from the station entrance.
There was a Mr Shakeshaft around there too and a back garden growing veg.
My dad was in the L/pool Gas Co and went to work in the mornings on the train in part of the hol.
My Uncle Ernest Newton owned the Royal Golf Hotel and Beech House -both in the Stanley rd vicinity and
called for us in his Silver Ghost RR
I fremember the super outdoor pool.
