Frankie’s Bar & Grill restaurant at the Holiday Inn Express hotel at King’s Gap, Hoylake has been rebranded.
As of today (June 17th, 2013) the venue is called Marco’s and offers an all-day menu focused on American-Italian food. I asked about the need for a rebrand and Marco’s replied:
“Marco wanted [the restaurant] to bear his name so that the new concept is all about the food and the quality at an affordable price.”
The original restaurant and hotel opened just over 12 months ago following a multi-million pound redevelopment of the former King’s Gap Hotel.
I would say this is good news. In April I stayed in the new hotel there but didn’t use the restaurant known as Frankies. They appeared to be closed more than open and when open very poorly patronised. So the Green Lodge got our business , An all day menu proposed by Marcos sounds much better. I wish them well- there’s some stiff competition around the area.
We went for a meal the last Bank Holiday – all I can say is the quality of food was VERY poor, so this is good news. Also hope the atmosphere improves.
The food is far better – and the service far superior – at Monte Carlo.
JD I agree ……I love it there
My wife and I had a meal at Frankies a few months ago,the meal was digusting the service was worse.
We will try Marco`s.
