HoylakeJunction has been in maintenance mode (lick of paint mode) for a shortish period of time during which an updated theme has been loaded and a few behind-the-scenes tweaks have been made.
The revised site layout should be a little easier to read as a larger font is now used and for those readers viewing the site on an iPad (or other tablet) site performance should be better. I can see from the (anonymous) site analytics that a sizeable (and steadily increasing) percentage of readers now view the site on a tablet.
As the new site layout uses different dimensions all new photographs published will be sized 740 pixels wide as opposed to the previous width of 600 pixels. I can’t possibly resize all the existing photos so it means that there’ll be a slightly wider than necessary righthand margin …so I don’t think we’ll worry about that.
I might need to make a few more little adjustments but I’m not expecting to activate “maintenance mode” again.
Feel free to let me know/leave a comment if I’ve broken anything!
