I first mentioned about the redevelopment plans for the Kings Gap Court hotel back in May and I see that whilst we were away on holiday there’s been some news. Unfortunately, I missed the public meeting when detailed plans of the proposed revamp were on display. Did anyone get chance to see them …what did you think?
I gather the chaps running the business behind the scheme are Simon Matthews-Williams and Paul Bolton. Their company is (I think) called Sanguine Hospitality …I note that if you try that as a .co.uk it redirects (as we say in the trade) to another of their hotels Hoole Hall. I gather that Mr Matthews-Williams is a former boss of the Liverpool Crown Plaza and Mr Bolton is a property developer (if you’re reading chaps it’d be great to hear from you!).
From what I read in The Wirral News, the £7m revamp will:
- retain the original house
- include a brasserie restaurant
- include a bar
- include a function room for 100 people
- see that part of hotel remains open during the revamp
In my earlier post I mentioned an underground car park – anyone know what that actually is?
The company behind the proposed new West Kirby hotel seem to be facing some local criticism – will the Kings Gap redevelopment meet with local approval or disapproval I wonder?
By the way, did you know that in google you can do something like this: define:sanguine and you’ll see that sanguine can mean confidently optimistic and cheerful
There’s an artist’s impression on the Daily Post link, it looks very smart!
