Plans to convert a large property and build new homes in the rear garden of a house in Meols have been submitted.
An application to convert the single existing building (pictured – The Moorings) on Meols Parade into two dwellings and to build three new detached houses in the rear garden facing Sandhey Road has been submitted to Wirral Council (details). Sandhey Road is the road with an entrance to Queens Park.
The photo of the house above does not reflect the recent and ongoing renovations to the property. The proposed three new detached properties will face Sandhey Road and will offer 2-bedroomed accommodation.
I was of the understanding that there is or was a planning embargo on this sort of development?
has this been changed?
My understanding is that there was an embargo but not anymore. Having seen new builds around west Wirral that seems to be the case. There’s a new bungalow in Bertram Drive for instance.
I see the application got withdrawn
Probably because it had 8 public comments made against it
It will probably get revised and then be resubmitted
As the planning system allows a free re-application if it is done within 12 months of a previous application that was rejected or got withdrawn
So let us watch and see what happens . . . .
