If you’re a regular visitor to Hoylake Library you might have to change the time you go as Wirral Council announces a revised opening schedule.
Following a public consultation, Wirral libraries will soon only open for 18 hours a week. You can read more about the consultation process here.
As a result of the above, here is the opening hours timetable for Hoylake Library starting March 2nd:
Monday: 9am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: 9am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm
Friday: Closed
Saturday: 9am – 1pm
Sunday: Closed
[Edit]: The opening times for West Kirby Library remain unaltered.
Think of the money that would be saved if our councillors worked “Hoylake Library Hours” or reduced their numbers!
I am really sorry that the council have targeted our retired people once again by cutting down the hours of the Hoylake library.
Very sad indeed. Cutting councillors working hours is a good start as suggested above.
this could be the beginning of the end for our library. because the times are so severely cut
many people won’t get there. Ergo, less “footfall” good reason to close. I wish we could
do something more. Any ideas?
