Nope, Countdown isn’t coming to Hoylake, but is there something strange (in the neighbourhood) going on with our local shop signage?
Sign Busters!
Fellow morning walkers Frank and John have spotted that letters are disappearing from some of the shop signage in Hoylake. Take the Co-op sign pictured above; it’s missing a ‘p’ and a ‘v’.
BetFred, is missing an ‘e’:
And Lino’s Restaurant is missing three letters from its signage (sorry about the snap, the sun was actually out):
There might be others as I haven’t checked every shop (not yet anyway).
Now, it could be that back in February Storm Doris blew these missing letters away? But this isn’t the first time someone has mentioned to me that letters have disappeared from our local shop signage. I seem to recall previously that Flavours Cafe and Carphone Warehouse also had letters missing from their signs too and it raised suspicions?
Though it does seem like an awful lot of effort to get a set of ladders round to the Co-op in the middle of the night to nick their p and v?
Anyone shed any light on this?
Charles Morris says
I think the letters are being deliberately removed in order to create an anonymous letter to a short-sighted victim.
