No date for this old photo I’m afraid but the image captures a busy day at the boating and paddling pools. And the beach.
The boating lake (pool) as was is now of course used for model boats while the old paddling pool is today, well, just a neglected, empty old paddling pool really. And it can’t hold its own water.
Is that a jetty in the rear of the photo coming from the slipway? I can’t recall anyone mentioning that there was one but maybe I need reminding?
Here’s the boating lake in 1931 and also in the early 1960s. And only last week you could see it on telly in Peter Kay’s Car Share. Catch it on iplayer if you missed it. The second series not as good the first though was it?
