Wirral Council are holding drop-in sessions to give people the opportunity to see the proposals for the Hoylake Golf Resort.
The sessions are being held at Melrose Hall in Hoylake on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th November between 1pm and 7pm and at Westbourne Hall in West Kirby on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th and Friday 20th November, again between 1pm and 7pm.
Wirral Council reports that: “Much progress has been made since the Nicklaus Joint Venture Group was announced as the preferred developer on the Golf Resort project in July and the drop-in sessions will be an opportunity for local people to look at how the proposals are developing and see for the first time how the various elements of the project link together.”
Wirral Council leader, Cllr Phil Davies, says the events are being staged so local residents are engaged in the project as much as possible.
He said: “We are excited about this development and how it will add to Wirral’s already strong reputation for golf and leisure activities. Hoylake still holds the record for the highest number of visitors attending The Open in England, demonstrating what an important contributor to the economy of Hoylake, West Kirby and the Wirral golf can be.
“We share the developer’s ambition for Hoylake to be the capital of England’s NW Golf Coast, attracting visitors from across the UK as well as US, Japan and Europe to master the art of links golf at a purpose-built academy and play the courses along the region’s coast.
“It is important the council and the developers keep listening to local people as these proposals move forward. The events in November are just the first stage and there will be other opportunities for people to learn more as the project develops.
“As with many schemes like this, formal consultation will come later, but this is a timely opportunity to provide an update on the progress being made.â€
