Following on from a recent Friday Photo of an old Hoylake shop called Cumpsty and Miller I’ve received this related photo.
David Cumpsty, a relation to the Cumpsty family in the original photo says:
In the photo second from the left is George Henry Cumpsty part owner of Cumpsty and Miller Store.
Don’t they all look rather dapper gentlemen?
Pyke says
Interesting that the gentleman on the left appears to have a Clerical dog collar.
My father would not have bought Light colour suit. Everyday wear would have been tweed And cord in the country. And collar and tie in the country..
Usual herring bone or speckley fairly dark.for his Ecclesfield Parish.
Somerset tweed jacket and usually cords on weekdays.
Coles brothers and Thatchers, Taunton. They had to last and stand up to kneeling! Like his shoes which had patched or holed toes.
