Many thanks to Syd Bird for this early 1960’s photo of Back Sea View, taken before the properties were redeveloped. I presume the view is from the Trinity Road end looking toward Grove Park and the Plasterers Arms (both out of view).
Well, that’s the last item of 2010 so many thanks for your continued readership, photos, news, comments and contributions – all of which are really appreciated!
Happy New Year.

The houses in Back Sea View, once derelict where know to the local lads as the “Oldies” or the best place to play many of the games we played. Hide and Seek, Kick the can, War…and many other games.
The houses had holes punched in the walls that ran from house to house.
I think we all have scars from broken glass, so many great days spent in those houses.

This may be off topic, but deals with Hoylake past. Does anyone know of or remenber a five piece group called the Jack Carter band? They go way back to after the War into the fifties. Aparently my wifes father was part of the group till 1951.
