Spotted this pair of wellies in the mud off Sandhey slipway a week or so ago. Did the wearer get stuck and pull their feet out of them? Or there another story to why they’re there?
On a serious note, do remember that people, dogs, horses, cars etc can get stuck in soft sands on Hoylake beach… I’m sure Hoylake Coastguard can confirm this.
Talking of being stuck in the mud, that’s how I’ve been feeling with Hoylake Junction of late. A big dip in motivation is to blame for the lack of posting over the summer holidays. Oh and the fact that the football (though that was forgettable!) , Olympics and Tour de France have all been on telly has been a distraction too! Not sure what yet, but I think need to come with some new ideas starting this autumn.
I’ve seen a couple of nice old images for forthcoming Friday Photos so look out for those.
And heck, it’s a big year for the site next year – the 10th anniversary and something I’m really looking forward to. A good enough reason for a huge cake too 🙂

Keep up the great work. As HOYLAKE exiles, we love to see the old home town photos which you post…..
PS what a shame the ‘mud’, (or should we call it raw sewerage?) has blighted the HOYLAKE beach for so long…… It’s better than it was but it’s still there as your photo proves…….

I agree, Friday night includes a look at what is happening at HJ. Keep it up.

Mud is natural.
