How odd!
Just remembered that I snapped this scene about three weeks ago at Sandhey slipway down on the prom.
It was the morning after the remnants of hurricane Ophelia hit our coastline, if I remember correctly. Walking up to the slipway I could see what I thought were a couple of black plastic barrels. You sometimes see plastic barrels washed-up after a storm or a big tide. Only when I got close up I realised they were a pair of knights (horses from chess). Maybe someone had an outside chess set in their garden and the wind whisked them away? I didn’t position them like that by the way, someone else must have.
Anyway, quite a surreal scene, what with the plastic toilet seat there too. Out of shot, behind one the knights was an empty can of Stella. One of the oddest things I’ve seen washed-up!
A week later, after storm Brian I think it was, Sarah Cronin happened upon this squid(?) washed up:
Don’t see too many of them either!

Looks more like an Octupus than a squid. Has Ms. Cronin frozen it by any chance? I have a friend who is local and is a biologist at Liverpool University who may be interested in this..
John says
Sorry, no frozen octopus in the freezer !

Is it globally warmed then ?
