In my day, Hoylake was a wonderful and very elegant and a gracious Town. There were no old folks homes and very few apartment buildings….and certainly no graffiti!
The whole Town was well kept. People were God fearing, well dressed, polite and friendly, but most of all were Conservatives through and through. To the extent that the Speaker of the House, Sir Selwyn Lloyd, was also a resident of this wonderful Town….
Where did it all go wrong?
Having spent my childhood in Hoylake, I visited last year, to find a sad little place, without not only a Bank to it’s name, but also a place full of ugly flats for Seniors.
On hearing that the voting public has now decided to elect a Labour candidate, for this lovely area, all I can suggest, is that be prepared for Hoylake to become an upmarket up Birkenhead.
Shame on you all, for allowing this to happen.
Hilarious post. That’s got to be a wind-up. Not least as ‘we’ elected a Labour MP in the 1997, 2001 and 2005 General Elections.
So it must be a joke or else you are Rip van Winkle and I claim my five pounds.
Still, homes for ‘Seniors (sic)’. Ugly or not, I mean the very thought………As for the Labour Party goodness me, next it will be ladies wearing trousers.
Sussanah provides a comically impertinent example of blue rinse angst; priceless.
