While doing some research for one of my other web-based projects – CutleyDrawer, an online kitchenware shop that I really hope you like – I stumbled upon a competition that might well be of interest to Hoylake-based crafty people.
Now I don’t mean crafty as in sneaky or devious of course, I mean as in people who bake, sew, draw, make things or write and could possibly earn some money for their efforts!
Country Living magazine is running a competition called Kitchen Table Talent and it’s for people who have a passion for the kinds of craft activities that I’ve mentioned above. You’ve got until 1st May to enter and you’ll find the details on the (somewhat plain) website. The prizes aren’t bad and the publicity should be good. Note that your “kitchen table” activity can’t be your primary source of income (yet).
Know I know there quite a few Hoylake residents that bake, sew, draw, write etc and several people sell their products in local shops, on websites such as etsy and folksy or through their own online stores. So, perhaps we might have a competition winner among us?
By the way, if you do happen to promote your craft enterprise with a facebook page then I’ll ‘like’ yours if you ‘like’ mine. I’m also dabbling with the next big thing in social networking – pinterest – so if you do get around to using it I think following is the thing one does.
I hope the competition is of interest to at least some of you and if you do enter feel free to leave a comment a below and get yourself some free publicity.
Good luck!
