Thanks to Julian Priest for letting me know that this weekend Hoylake (on the beach) is hosting a world record attempt for kite buggying.
Starting at 10am on Saturday morning there’ll be non-stop kite buggying for 24 hours through to 10am on Sunday in an attempt to break record for the greatest distance covered. The Hoylake 24 Kite Buggy Endurance Challenge is also raising money for charity along with attempting to reclaim the kite buggy endurance distance world record, having previously held it after the Wirral Sand Yacht Club event of 2007.
You’re invited to come along to sand bank to the pits area to have a chat with the pilots and see what it’s all about. The buggies are strikingly colourful and the technology has moved on somewhat from what the pioneers started with.
