DEFRA is running an event in Hoylake this month to offer tips and advice on how to cut down on food waste.
Food waste is a major issue. We throw away 7 million tonnes of food and drink from our homes every year, the majority of which could have been eaten. It’s costing us £12.5bn a year and is bad for the environment too. For more information visit here
The event is free and tea, coffee and cake is available.
Saturday 31st May from 10am to 1pm at Melrose Hall.
This was a very thought provoking workshop and we have saved the paper work to do a display in the window at the HELP Shop on Monday.
We are all guilty of wasting food and filling our bins instead of saving money and buying sensibly.
The Presenter was very impressed with Hoyake, and the Groups who were represented, and our efforts to buy Local etc and Incredible Edible. free food.
