Hoylake RNLI were called out on a “shout” yesterday and team member Mike Mellors captured the launch on his mobile phone.
The Lady of Hilbre was launched to assist Tranmere Oil Terminal tenders that had engine trouble at New Brighton. At launch time of around 10.45 Mike says the wind was was blowing a gale force 10.
By looking at the latest shouts on the RNLI website it seems that a boat was launched from New Brighton to assist at the same incident.
If you’d like to see the Lady of Hilbre launched the next scheduled exercise is on Sunday 20th, March at 10.30am.
